I will surely quit with the help of data. I also wanted to dislike it because of the author's horrifying habit, throughout most of the book, of classifying smokers as poor pathetic creatures to be pitied, only to throw easywah a very brief chapter at the end begging readers not to become those condescending, self-righteous ex-smokers. Still smoke free with very few cravings ever. I do feel pretty ready for Carr to convince me. I read that as very passive aggressive too.

As confident as Carr looks, his concept is so well thought out and meaningful that the theatrical staging certainly has its justification. The governments pay lip service to getting people to stop smoking by adding health warnings to cigarette packets, however, if they really wanted to do something, they could force the tobacco companies to produce cigarettes without nicotine in them. But after some mentally trying holidays I found myself chain smoking with no relief. I definitely highly recommend this book to other smokers who would like to quit.
I have attempted pretty much everything: Carr does not recommend avoiding the parts of life that remind you of smoking.
When I finished the last chapter, I also threw away my cigarettes. In the first days especially, your body will go through very mild feelings of withdrawal. Despite itself, it did what it set out to do. After reading this book, I immediately quit smoking and have not looked smokimg.
Time to stub it out methinks, long over due in fact. In the 60s, apparently, a tobacco company did produce a cigarette without nicotine and it was buried so deep it would never see the light of day.
You are doing yourself a disservice if you do not give this method a chance.
